(Beginner) Finally fell in love with this game!

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 02:12 PM PST

    Hello everyone,

I started playing KSP about two weeks ago. I have attempted to try the game in the past, but never really had the patience to overcome the initial feeling of being overwhelmed by the relative complexity of the game. For some reason though, this Christmas holiday I finally persuaded myself to go through all the tutorials and watched some great videos for beginners and discovered how truly amazing this game can be once you overcome these initial feelings.

None of my friends are really into KSP, so I have nobody to share it with, but today (after about 25 tries) I have managed to land on a different planet to Kerbin and that is Eve (Venus). It was by no means well thought out, it was by no means clean and I highly doubt I would pass even a single safety regulation, but as of 10:45 CET, the captain of the spaceship LCOP (Let's crash on other planets) Mk.8 - Dilfen Kerman, alongside his trusty crewmate and brother, Gusrey Kerman, it was confirmed that they are both safely down on Eve's surface. Let's not worry about the fact, that there is absolutely no way to extract them and that due to the lack of fuel the crash landing destroyed the landing struts as well as the solar panels, okay? :^)

I am sorry if this is just incoherent rumbling and if this isn't a massive achievement for most of you experienced space explorers, but I am falling in love with this game and landing on a different planet felt just so good that I had to share it somehow. Thanks for reading this and I will be sure to keep you updated if I decide to dispatch a rescue mission for the LCOP Mk.8 crew in the future.

Here is a photo taken just a couple of minutes after landing by the crew. Happy 2020 to everyone!
