Kerbal Space Program The Mun has atmo? What is this, Destiny? |
- The Mun has atmo? What is this, Destiny?
- Landed a broken plane on half a wing, a single crooked engine, and barely any fuel or control from miles away.
- just finished my ISS after 4 days of orbital assembly
- Mun-Synchronous Relay Constellation
- Solar eclipse + comet = awesome
- Can we just appreciate how detailed the stock suits are?
- Pulling a trailer is hard in KSP. Worse on the Mun. EVEN WORSE having to use 4 linked rovers to tow a refinery up a hill. Artemis Base is reall pushing the Kraken's patience.
- My Soyuz replica
- Jeb has become one with the runway tarmac.
- Do you have trouble coming up with names for ships?
- My first SpaceStation that is going to an orbit around the sun
- My old Minmus rest stop with counter spinning gravity rings
- First time on Bop and now the search begins!
- Tragedy tonight
- It's got a lot of detail. It's got a lot of parts. It's got not a lot of frames
- just wondering what Reddit thinks is my Soyuz (criticism welcomed)
- I made a cannon in ksp
- Space Shuttle Atlantis (DECQ Shuttle)
- first mission to Eve didn't exactly go as planned... (ignore decoupler on top that i placed the wrong orientation)
- First Minmus lander with 3 kerbals and a rover!
- My fully self-sufficient mobile mun explorer. Automatic unpacking and repacking, 2.6k deltaV.
- I'm getting this flashing shadows - any solution?
- Finally Built an SSTO Space Plane Worth Posting Here!
- PROTIP- You can attach struts to the inside of fairings! Just be sure to attach them to a decoupled, they don't always come off when the fairing deploys.

Posted: 06 Jan 2021 06:35 PM PST This game hits me hard sometimes. Johngan had just joined the agency. A rookie engineer with no experience. He got lucky during an influx of hires due to expansion of the mission: All celestial bodies were to be colonized. Of course, due to his inexperience he was assigned to the munbase. Still, an honor. He was to ride along with 2 tourists on his maiden voyage on a Moonbus, the tourist craft the agency used to fund larger projects. A routine flight, one that has been flown without issue countless times. Nothing ever went wrong. The launch window deemed a night launch the ideal option. With the moon towering above in the night sky, the moonbus launched into the stratosphere. The boosters separated correctly, the gravity turn went well. The sun began to peek over the horizon, casting brilliant colors through the sky as the craft pierced into the heavens. Beautiful. Johngan couldn't help but think about how amazing the view must be from out there. He put on his helmet, opened the door, let go, and smashed into the tailfin of the still accelerating rocket. No. Panic. He screams into his radio to stop the engines, but the craft is gone. Into the void. The agency cuts the engines remotely and johngan slams the accelerators on his jetpack, trying hopelessly to catch up. The craft hadn't achieved orbital speed yet, so unless he could catch up fast and have the craft resume its plotted course, this could spell disaster. He targets the craft. Its still on its ascent. Maybe there's time. Suddenly, a miracle. Its working. He's catching up... There's the craft! He can see it! Its only a few hundred meters away! Then... The craft begins to move away. He continues to push towards it, but it's no use. Its begun its descent, and is accelerating faster than he can possibly catch up to, and the atmosphere is coming up fast.. The sun finally breaks over the horizon. Gorgeous hues silhouette johngan as the craft blasts into the distance, torn from his grasp as if a plaything of a vengeful god. He looks into the view of the looming planet. His home planet. He took one final look at the star hanging on the horizon and closed his eyes... Then.. It was over. As if this twist of fate wasn't enough, the antenna that the tourist craft used for comms broke off as the rocket began reentry. It could not be staged or oriented to slow down. It slammed prograde into the ocean at over 1000m/s taking with it two innocent souls who only wanted to see the stars. I could have reverted but this turn of events affected me so strongly that I decided to take the reputation hit and set up a memorial as a cautionary tale against complacency. Anyway, that was my session today. Thanks for reading. [link] [comments] | ||
