Posted: 10 Jun 2021 09:51 AM PDT I already posted a little something on the forum post but I thought I'd put a little more here. Given the recent news regarding KSP 1's final update, I'd just like to thank Squad. I installed KSP for myself for the first time nearly 3 years ago now. (believe I had played it once on a friend's laptop at least 3 yrs before that, though!) Before I played KSP, I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. Maybe programming? After I had started getting into KSP, it really changed me. I had a newfound interest in spaceflight. I learned everything I could about the Apollo missions, the shuttles, present-day efforts from the private sector, and everything in between, whether it be manned or unmanned. I fell for space HARD, all because of my initial interest in Kerbal where I happened to see it on sale and thought it looked interesting. I've now spent hundreds of hours spent watching YouTube videos describing the past missions, various trips to the KSC visitor's complex, and watching practically every space launch that I can find live. Did I struggle at first? Yes. Was it hard? Yes. But with practice, it only got easier and easier, and with it, more fun and enjoyment coming out of it. Now, I am entering the next chapter in my life. University/College. And given my newfound focus on spaceflight, I'm going to apply for Mechanical Engineering, in an effort to work for NASA or any spaceflight company/organization. I'd never even have thought about engineering before had I not discovered this game. And because of it, I'm going to (hopefully) enter a career in which I am doing what I love. I'm extremely excited for Kerbal 2 and everything that will come with it. I already have the $60 set aside for my pre-order. Here's to the next chapter of the greatest spaceflight game in the universe. And here's to Squad, who not only created the first chapter but is now joining the next. I wish everyone at Squad the best, thank them for creating this game, and am incredibly excited for Kerbal 2. Thanks again. And sorry if this is all over the place and unorganized, I didn't really plan this out, just kind of typed. P.S, i'm your guy for any random beta testing :) [link] [comments] | ||
