- With collective controls in 1.9, it's now possible to build F35 style jet+lift fan VTOL planes
- What I saw of KSP2 at PAX East
- Thanks, i hate it
- Gene Kranz (apollo program flight director) and Gene Kerman
- Got to meet some of the KSP2 team at PAX East this weekend! Signed this flag that will probably make it in the game they said. I was on top of the world!
- Apollo Munar Lander (with folding rover)
- Met the marketing manager for ksp2 at pax East
- This descent actually works, somewhat.
- Zarya, the first ISS module, recreation
- What can fly like a helicopter or airplane and switch’s back and forth mid air? This thing I made. PS4
- Yeah I know the joins aren't right but anyway.
- Virus probe
- Goodbye Kraken my old friend...
- This... this is how you land the Space Shuttle, right?
- Focke-Wulf Triebflügel- The most kerbal airplane(?) ever conceived
- Minmus and back Heavy lifter SSTO with fancy NERV deployment
- Kerbin is safe (...for now)
- A ridiculously powerful rocket
- Chinese moon rocket vs Saturn V
- My Minmus relay network is complete!
- I made a plane that goes kind of fast
- M.O.L inspired station I used for early career mode.
- So I got the part count down by 200 which is enough for me to reasonably record a video. However, the Kraken doesn't like it when it has its engines in water so now I have to use a mock up first. Not like this thing can tip up in the water anyway.
- AAAAAA!!

What I saw of KSP2 at PAX East Posted: 02 Mar 2020 08:42 AM PST I won't do a minute by minute playthrough, but I'll just highlight what new things I saw. If anyone else saw the presentation, feel free to add in the comments. We saw the new VAB UI, which looked very similar to the KSP1. Parts were split into Small, Medium, Large, and I think Extra Large. Mentioned was improved search, filtering, and improved classification features. There is a new blueprint mode that switches the camera to an orthographic viewpoint and supposedly offers better snapping, aligning, and other features but it was seen for only a few seconds. I tried to see what parts were in the explorer but they were dark steel parts against a dark grey background so I couldn't pick anything out. Selected parts had a thick green outline. Overall the new VAB seemed much darker than the old VAB. The ship being built was nothing special, basically stock KSP1 parts. All KSP1 parts will be making a return and we can color our parts. We see a quick demonstration of the new tutorials, which are animated and very attractive looking. Mentioned repeatedly was accessibility, such that new players don't necessarily need to understand what terms like prograde, anti-normal, etc. mean to actually play the game. The new flight UI is similar to the current one but with things moved around and some buttons and elements blown up or sized down. Anything new here is lost to me, just buttons with icons with no indication to what they could mean, other than the obvious like SAS or RCS. We see the surface of the Mun, which was very detailed and impressive. I noticed that all of the scenes taking place close to or on planets had some performance issues, while entirely space scenes ran smoothly. It seems we'll be able to build colonies anywhere, including on the sides or edges of cliffs. There was a shot of the same Orion engine ship we saw before taking off from a Mun colony, boosting off with rockets that were dropped. The developers joked that colony was probably destroyed because they activated the Orion engine too early. We see the same space colony over Jool orbit plus the massive interstellar ship we see in the CGI trailer. Its mentioned that Jool (which was looking very sharp) is a great place to collect fuel. The interstellar ship was so massive you need to use special rockets just to unberth from the space colony. There was then a 3-4 minute highlight reel of what the development team was working on, which included a lot of different things fast. Kerbals will shift around in their seats with g-forces. Kerbals have many different outfits, faces and hair, and can do funny animations like dances. Saturn analog planet has really cool rings that are shadowed realistically as the planet spins. We see a close up of the rings and can see its made of dust and small asteroids. We get a quick showcase of many planets, moons, and surfaces. Kerbal now was realistic and great looking mountains and rivers along with trees, grass, and shrubs. One planet has an shiny icy surface a kerbal was doing an EVA on. Along with a few barren looking rocky planets, we also see a cool looking liquid (water?) world that looks like its been struck by many asteroids and has underwater craters with the edges sticking out like mountain ranges. Another planet has what appeared to be any icy equator with small liquid poles (which doesn't make sense but I only saw it for a second, might be the other way around). There were multiple shots of SSTO spacecraft in different colors, similar to the dev diary. At the end it said releasing in 2020. They were giving out KSP pins but didn't have them the days I was there, Thursday and Friday, which was really too bad. That's all I can remember right now. [link] [comments] | ||
